Happy Birthday to Madison!

Here is a simple and quick birthday card. I made it this morning before a bowling birthday party for Desi's friend Madison. I really like the simplicity of it. I am thinking about using it for card buffet on Monday. What do you think?

Stamps are from the Level A hostess set Party Time. All I did for this card was tie some lime satin ribbon on a white card. Then I tied knots of narrow hot pink satin, sheer lime with white dots and sheer hot pink ribbons below the lime satin knot. After all the ribbon was tied on, I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner using Palette Noir ink. On a scrap of white cardstock I stamped the balloon in Palette Noir ink. To get the shaded effect I outlined the balloon with Process Pink PrismaColor Pencil and blended the color from the outside to the inside using a blender stump (found in your local art/craft store) and Odorless Mineral Spirits (found in your local Walmart paint/home improvement department). Once my balloon was colored I cut it out with the circle coluzzle that fit best. I then cut a green cardstock circle with the coluzzle circle one size bigger. I adhered the balloon circle to the green circle and mounted it to the card with a pop dot just above the sentiment. Final touch was the glitter around the circles. It is hard to see in the photo, but I took crystal lacquer and put a thin bead of it around the edges of both circles and on the highlight on the balloon. Lastly, I sprinkled UltraFine Prisma Glitter on the crystal lacquer to give the card a little bling.

Oh, one more thing...I love the lime satin ribbon I used on this card. It is 3/8 of an inch wide. It's wider then the Offray satin at JoAnn or Michaels. You know the ones I am talking about, they are like .50 cents for 10 yards and go on sale for 3 or 4 for a dollar. Well, I got this nice wide one on sale, 20 yards for .50 at Hobby Lobby. The satin comes in a ton of great colors and several widths. I like the widest one shown on the card above cuz it is really affordable, but it doesn't look cheep.

Well I am off to go crop with my mom's group. Max, Desi and Violet are watching the premiere of High School Musical 2 tonight. Max is going to tape it for me so I can watch with the girls tomorrow! Yeah!
Happy Stamping and Inky Hugs.
