Did you miss your chance?

I made this birthday card for my aunt with Bold Birthday. Bold Birthday was an awesome solid image stamp set available at a great discount until April 15th. Usually I try not to show too much stuff done with retired stamp sets, but I couldn't help but post this one. I was very pleased with the finished product! Hope it inspires you to create! Bold Birthday,at the special price, is gone and might be gone forever. Did you miss your chance at owning this great set? I hope not!

Besides Bold Birthday, I used my big shot machine to emboss the background with music notes and also to cut the photo corners. The textured pink, robins egg, and apple green cardstock is all match makers. I used prisma glitter on the cake, in real life it has a ton of sparkle! The scallop circle is made with the coluzzle circle template and a SU! notch punch...but you could use the notch tool from TAC too!

You might have missed Bold Birthday, but it is not to late to take advantage of TAC's newest promotion: Spring Fling! Right now TAC is offering FOUR awesome stamp sets, Sweet Tweets, Punctuation, Happy Bug Day, and For All Seasons, at a discounted price with a $30 order. These great sets will only be available until May 31st. After that, like Bold Birthday, they might be gone forever. If you email or call me to take advantage of Spring Fling I will also throw in the usual gift with purchase stamp(s).

Don't let these great sets and great opportunity pass you by!

70 Something and Sunny!

It is warm and bright here today. Feels and smells like spring, finally! I am working on projects that might be good sellers for two May craft fairs. What do you think of this? The first photo is closed. To open you just pull on the thumb notch as you hold the bottom of the card. The second photo is open to reveal a packet of seeds. To close again just push the seeds back down. The ribbon will slide back through the holes and neatly back into the card. This little card with built in gift is the perfect size for a standard A2 envelope and therefore can be mailed. I used Old Friend a brand new stamp set from the Spring Supplement. I just can not keep my hands off of this great stamp set. Images are stamped with Palette Burnt Umber and colored with Lyra AquaColor Crayons and a Niji Water Brush.

Those of you that are going to receive the April Card Kit will get full instructions, stamps and enough card stock, colored staples and ribbon to make at least two of these cards! Click here for more info about the April Card Kit. If you are interested in ordering the kit just email or call me! risa_v@hotmail.com

The kiddos are out playing in the yard. I am off to check on them and then more stamping for the craft fair! Happy Saturday everyone!

Happy Easter!

He is Risen! Just a quick post to say have a blessed and happy Easter. I hope that you enjoy your friends, family and feast tomorrow! I know I will. What are you all doing tomorrow? I will start out with a breakfast at church (hopefully with some friends that I invited) then Easter service after that. I will help with clean up after breakfast and service then head to my mom and dads for a leisurely afternoon. My brother and sister-in-law will be there with my nephew Xander. My sister and brother-in-law will be visiting from Kentucky with my nephew Will. I can not wait to get lots of pictures of my two girls and the boys together for Easter! YIPEE! I just love all my kids. Well it is time for me to go and get some stamping done, then Easter baskets for all the kids, and then shopping for some ingredients for a special salad for tomorrow. Blessings to you and your family!

We have a winner!

I won a contest! Each month TAC gives demonstrators five contest catagories and asks for submissions. Well, if you read my previous post you know that I have been sending stuff for awhile now and have had little or no recognition. It was a bummer but I just kept sending. This month I won the 'doodle designs' contest catagory! Here is my photo. The card is Ivory Ultra Smooth stamped with Fanciful Flowers and Artsy Elements using Landscape, Raw Sienna, Bordeaux and French Lilac Palette Pads. I then folded a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 sheet of acetate on center to make a standard card. I tucked the ivory card into the acetate card and bound them at the top with ribbon. The sentiment is from Trust In the Lord. It is stamped on ivory and cut out with the coluzzle nested circle template. I matted the circle and adhered it to the acetate layer with a pop it dot. Lastly I doodled on the acetate with crystal lacquer and sprinkled with prisma glitter. It is hard to see the acetate layer in the photos, but it is a quick and easy effect with lots of WOW power in real life. I am so thrilled about winning a contest! It just goes to show you that persistance pays off! Thanks for looking and celebrating with me! Wanna see some other great TAC contest winners? Click here.

Stamping on Fabric Class

My friend Deb asked if I would teach a stamping on fabric class for her and her friends. I am so excited! I am having so much fun, I could teach this class TEN times. Here are a few ideas I will be sharing with the group on Thursday.

The first is a shirt that I made for my 2 year old daughter Violet. I stamped the bottom hem and right shoulder with Squiggle Ladybugs

This little shirt is for my Nephew. I am going to put it in his Easter basket. This one is stamped with Lilly Pad Pond.

Last fabric project for tonight is a card. Cream panel is felt. Flower, from Fanciful Flowers, is stamped in Boudoir Blush Palette Ink.

The April card and paper crafts kit is celebration of everything SPRING! This is a sample card from the April Card Kit! To purchase this months kit just email or call me before April 30th! You will receive all you see below and 4-6 photo idea cards with full instructions to complete this project and more! Happy Stamping and Gardening!

About the Edge Distresser

Good Morning! Just a really quick post before I run out. It's a busy day today! Here is a little insight on how the edge distresser in the April card kit works. Just insert paper edge into the slot on the tool and rub. This handy little tool will leave a shabby chic edge on any of the great card stocks included in the April kit! The edge is roughed up and textured. It is really cool to see and feel! COOL HUH?
