Elegant and Inspirational Totally Cards Tuesday

Here are two cards we will be making in my December Totally Cards Tuesday. I am going to feature two beautiful inspirational sets from TAC's most recent Serendipity Magazine. The anchor card features images and sentiments from Anchor to My Soul and the bird card features image and sentiment from Little Bird. Both stamps sets are beautiful and up lifting. I thought that they would make the perfect class. So that is the inspirational part now on to the elegant part...see the blue pattern paper on the bird card and the kraft and olive pattern paper on the anchor card? The patterns on these cards are stamped with TAC's Victorian Elements. I used Palette Prussian Blue on white for the bird and Palette Landscape stamped second generation on Kraft for the anchor card. Doesn't it make pretty pattern paper? Other supplies used to make these cards include TAC's Scarlet Cardstock, SU! Old Olive Cardstock, Blue Cardstock is from my stash, I think it was Hobby Lobby, I used Copic Markers from Caboodles sets A, F and C, Deckle Scissors and Nestie Labels Four Die, Paper Piercer and Ribbon from Bazzill. One other neat thing before I go get back to work...see the mini brads on the anchor card? They were an ugly shade of grey...I colored them with two coats of my darkest red Copic and now they match the card perfect! It's a great way to get your money-worth out of your Copic investment!
Happy Stampin'!

All things that make Halloween great...

We are not a big Halloween family. I don't allow anything dark or creepy. Costumes need to be something of the natural world and they must keep my children's modesty. We don't do a lot for the actual holiday other than get together with cousins and go around the neighborhood to visit Aunts and Uncles, Grandmas and Grandpas and we scout for other cousins out doing the same thing...See, my mom is one of 10 siblings and 8 of them live in the same town! Now that my generation is growing up, getting married and having children of our own, we too are settling down in the same town. Before long we'll have taken the whole thing over! I like the American cultural aspects of Halloween and we try very hard to make family and fun our focus. Giggles, grins, pumpkins, costumes, treats, candy apples, that's why I just love the "All things that make Halloween great" stamp from TAC's Glitter Goblins stamp set. This card is one we are doing in September's Totally Cards Tuesday. Other supplies used to make this card include TAC's Spookalicious, TAC's Miss Moxie Soar With It collection pattern paper and cardstock, Copic Color Caboodles Markers from Set C and D, Tuxedo Black Ink, Marvy Scallop Mega Circle Punch, SU! Corner Punch, Orange Mini Brads and Offray Black and White Gingham Ribbon.

Spookalicious Totally Cards Tuesday

I have been doing a little stamping and it's so much fun! My Totally Cards Tuesday classes are all lined up to the end of the year, so I figure I need some cards to teach. I am not a huge Halloween lover, but I did fall in love with the art in TAC's Spookalicious. This little owl is from the set. The sentiment is from a new level a hostess set from The Angel Company. September Totally Cards Tuesday will feature cards made with Spookalicious.
Other supplies used to make this card include:
TACs Brown and Kraft Cardstock as well as Miss Moxie Cardstock. Miss Moxie SWIC pattern paper. The circle stamp is from Glitter Gobblins. I used another SU! edge punch and corner punch on this card. The ribbon is Offray, not sure where I got it. The owl and circle are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the sentiment is stamped in Rich Cocoa. I colored the little owl with Copics from TAC's new Color Caboodles, I believe the browns are from set G and the yellows are from set C.

A Wedding Card

I made this card for my mom. She had a wedding to go to yesterday. I took my inspiration from the invitation and used TAC's Growing Love, retired, and Trendy Greetings T2144. I colored the bride and flowers with my Copic Caboodles Markers from Set E, A and G PLUS B0000 and C00. That awesome scallop border punch is SU! Thanks, Shar! ;) I used the corner punch for the first time on this card. I was intimidated by it, but it was a cinch and made this card more frilly and pretty.
Other supplies used to make this card include:
Bazzill Button
Kaiser Crystal Self Adhesive Gems
Score-Pal for the embossed layer
Paper Piercer
The gray cardstock is metallic, it's hard to tell in the picture. I have no idea who makes it. I got it from Xpedx when there was a store local.
Sheer gray ribbon.
Foam Adhesive from Confessions of a Ribbon
Addict...LOVING THIS STUFF.
I am also using and LOVING my Scotch ATG. TAC has the ATG in the newest Catalog and Inspiration Book. They are 100% worth it, especially for $39.98 as a hostess 1/2 price item!

Wanna host a catalog party or girls night out and score your ATG for just $39.98? Just email me and we can make plans!

A Shoebox Swap

I sometimes get together with JoAnn and Arlene to do a shoebox swap. This month I wanted a clean card that featured a new stamp set. This is what I came up with. It is not really complicated, but does a good job featuring the new product TAC has come out with. I used these products to make this card:
TACs The Places You'll Go stamp set T-3351, Color Caboodles Set A Copic Markers F-936 and Set A Cardstock V-350, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink S-1900, VersaMagic Perfect Plumeria Ink S-954, Kraft Cardstock V-244. Ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, too bad they don't carry that beautiful 3/8 inch satin any more :( and the clouds are colored with white PrismaColor Pencil.
Inside the cards says, "smell the flowers along the way." I took a picture of the inside, but it was an awful shot...you'll just have to imagine it. :p Thanks for stoppin' by!

sc279 Blossoms and Blessings

I just got new rubber on Saturday and it has been burnin' up waiting for me to come play! I started this morning early so I could play before the kids got up. This card was inspired by SplitcoastStampers Sketch Challenge 279. I love this layout and it surprised me! I don't usually do layers that partly overlap each other. It's not a way I naturally think. I am surprised and pleased with the results of the challenge. I used these TAC supplies to complete this card:
Blossoms & Blessings T3371
More Mimi Soar With It Collection Paper V855, Cardstock B311, and Ribbon B211
Scor-Pal F358 and Scor-Bug F361
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink S1900, Copic Color Caboodles Set A F936 and Set F 941.
Any of the supplies used can be ordered by simply emailing me.
Thank you for looking!

Hostess Club Card

We make a fun and special card when we get together for hostess club. The card and a template, with directions, then goes into a binder. That way, we have a sample and easy directions on how to make that type of card again in the future. This month we will make a shutter card. This card features TAC Hip Hop Fly With It Collection pattern paper, our brand new Copic Caboodles marker collections, and stamps from TAC's Wonder and Joy, Ordinary Greetings, and Bug of Fun.

I have included three views of my shutter card. The first is the card open completely. Isn't the shutter card a nice way to show off great pattern paper?

The second view is the card standing, closed from the front. The shutter folds completely flat and fits in a standard A2 envelope.

The third and last view is a close up on the main image. I colored this adorable boy with TAC's new Copic Color Caboodles markers. I love the new sets that TAC and Copic have teamed up to bring you! I usedColor Caboodles C for the jeans, hat, shirt, hair and bucket. I love the olive greens for the grass, they came from Color Caboodle F. Set A has shades of skin tones that I used to color the face, arms, knee and toes. Notice the jeans, grass and hat. The Copic Color Caboodles come with three shades of four different colors. They are the first Copic sets to include blendable shades of single colors. You need these blendable shades to get the effect you see here.

If you want to know more about the AWESOME new Color Caboodles OR if you are interested in a Color Caboodles Hostess Club, email me or stop in at my Open House on July 24th between 10 am and 1 pm. I will have all the great sets of Color Caboodles available for you to see in person! Want to know one more great thing about the Color Caboodles? There is yummy coordinating card stock available too! YUP! That's right. TAC continues to spend their time to save ours! Making cards just got so much easier!

Butterflies!

I saw the most beautiful butterfly in my garden yesterday. God makes the coolest stuff!
I have been planning and stamping class samples for my Totally Cards Tuesday class series. I want to have all my TCT card samples done for my Open House on July 24th. Here are two cards we will be making in my up coming So Long Summer class. Aren't those butterfly images beautiful?
The first card features Miss Moxie Soar With It Collection Designer Paper and cardstock and TAC's Trendy Greetings and Want to Fly Stamp Sets.
The second card features TAC's True beauty embossed with silver then colored with Copic markers from TAC's New Color Caboodles. The sentiment is from TAC's Thinking of You. The blue background is stamped with TAC's Victorian Elements with Palette Seascape ink. It's hard to see in the photo, but really it's a nice touch in real life.
If you want to make these cards PLUS two more, then email me to sign up for Totally Cards Tuesday in August. Here is more information about the Totally Cards Tuesday series:
Totally Cards Tuesday is the second Tuesday of every month. On Totally Cards Tuesday we will make 4 cards for $15. By request, I am offering additional cards for $2.50 each or $10 for a complete second set. Let's see how it works out. New Lower Prices!

I know, it's a little creepy...but cute too! I had to make an irreverent card for a swap I do every month. The sentiment might be kind of hard to read on your screen. It says 'What part of princess don't you understand?' I just love that sentiment...it's irreverent right?

Stamps are all retired. Sorry sucka! <--- Just practicing for the irreverent swap! ;)

However, that delicious background paper is not only still available, though me your friendly neighborhood Angel, BUT now it is at a NEW LOWER PRICE! You heard that right! Uptown Girl used to setcha back $6.95 for 36 8x8 sheets, but now it's just $5.95 for the same glorious 36 sheets. Want some? Just email me to order!

Hey Stampers! Long time no blog, I know! I am so excited to announce the release of TAC's newest catalog and inspiration book! Here are two sneak peeks for you. Quick Mini-Class Tomorrow?

Anyone still need a Mother's Day and Father's Day card? I have these two cards all ready for a mini-class just in the nick of time for Mother's Day. Don't need a card for Mother's Day? That's ok! These cards are great for any occasion, we'll just change your sentiment! Let me know if you are interested in popping in for a class. I am offering the class tomorrow, Saturday May 8th, at 3pm. Call, email or post if you are interested in attending.

It's really hard to see in the picture, but the Father's Day
card has a cutout window in the front. The 'It's Your Day' circle
is on the inside of the card. If you don't need a Father's Day card, this would make a great masculine birthday card. The 'It's Your Day' stamp is from Birthday Wishes. I love Birthday Wishes, it's a great graphic word set that blends perfect with any images you have! You can get Birthday Wishes for 25% off now through June.

The Mother's Day card is a very soft feminine card that features Victorian Elements. I love Victorian Elements because of it's versatility. I used this great set for both the white background and the pink and green focal image.
You really need to see both of these cards in person, because the photos do not do justice. Hope you can pop in tomorrow! Hugs.

Weekend Crop in Indianapolis

I spent a rockin' weekend with my sister, sister-in-law, and a great group of ladies from Kentucky and Indiana scrapbooking, stamping and stitching. Here is one of the layouts I made this weekend. It is my favorite of the four layouts I completed. This layout features TAC's Hemingway Soar with it Collection Pattern Papers, Card Stocks, and Ribbons. I also used Garden Mix Bitty Blossoms, and two retired TAC stamp sets, Sketched Bet and Soul Kisses.

Hogs and Kisses for a Friend

I started this card while ago while showing a friend how to use Copic markers. A few days later the image was still sitting on the table with a pink card and the yummy sheer dotted ribbon. My friend and fellow Angel Sandy Gordon was going to come visit so I needed to find something to work on while we visited. The card was just sitting there so I got to work. After two hours of pulling out other supplies and making a big mess I decided to take Sandy's simple advice. That is how this card came to be. As Sandy was walking out she told me to make sure that I blog it. She said it has been too long since I updated my blog. She was right all around. Here is my card. I used a pink card from my stash of big scraps some white and shimmery lavender card stock scraps, some Bazzil White Swiss Dot ribbon, a pencil eraser and VersaMagic Cloud White for the dots. The stamps are from last months Vintage Stamp Set 'Hogs and Kisses' and hello is from A Wittle Bug. The awesome border punch was a Fiscars super sale score from Michael's.

Escape Again - Part C

Here are a few more of fun Escape things:
The first is a card I made with Animal Thoughts. It is a
quirky fun stamp set that I LOVE! I added paper pieced details on the polka-dot belly and the thought bubble. I love the sentiment 'hello peanut'.

The next item was not a swap. Sandy made one of these CUTE little treat bags for each of us. It was a fun little just because thing that made the day even more special. Sandy used Brighten Your Day Kitty. It is a mini set available for just $2.95 right now through March 1.

The last photo is Kathy's swap. It also features Cheery Thoughts and Tutti Frutti paper. I colored her with Copic markers and added a scrap of lavender ribbon. I think that this might be my favorite. I am not sure though, because all of the cards were pretty rockin'.

I have one more card to share with you. I will be back tomorrow. The card I have to show inspired the March project for my Stamp Club that is forming now. I have just two spots left in the club. Club starts Sunday, February 21st, so get your spot while you can. I have it on good authority that there is a new promotion coming for March, so hostesses in the club should benefit. As soon as I know more I will post about it.

More of the Great Escape - Part B

Here are a few more cards from our shoe box swap. The first card is Lori's swap. I just love this card! It is fast and looks great. I love all the detail but it's not a fussy kind of detail. I don't know how to explain it, it's just this card is so perfect but not at all how I usually stamp. The card features TAC level D hostess set Label Lingo and Mini Occasions stamp sets.

The second set of cards was Sandy's swap. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these cards. They are finished and pleasing to the eye, but not cluttered. The stamps are from TAC's Sunday Stroll. Sandy had us dot the green background and flower punch embellishment on the girl card and the yellow panel on the boy card using a pencil eraser and VersaMark. I love the detail it adds to the card.

That's all for today. I need to get my hostess club all finalized so we are ready for the first meeting!

Escape Was GREAT! Part A

We had such a good time at our team Escape! There is so much to share. I am going to do it a couple of posts because there are 10 or 11 photos and I am having a really hard time getting them off of my camera and on to my computer. For those of you that don't know, on Saturday I had a Shoebox Swap and Angel Escape day with my TAC team. Sandy Gordon and I organized it together. We had 6 Angels attend and one played long distance. It was a great day. Here are the first three Shoebox projects:

The first card was Rachel's swap. It features TAC's brand new Anchor to the Soul and Angelee SWIC pattern paper. I loved Rachel's card because I never thought of putting Angelee SWIC paper with White Card Stock. It is a perfect combination and really makes Angelee look crisp and springy.

The next card was Lanette's swap. It features TAC's brand new Wonder and Joy stamp set and Pop Rockz Classic SWIC pattern paper. This is the first time I used Wonder and Joy. It was so much fun to color, especially with Copic markers! Isn't it cute the way Lanette taught us to color cheeks with Copic and Souffle Gelly Pens?!

The last card was Michele's swap. It is an adorable design! The little girl, from TAC's Cheery Thoughts, is stamped on a tag. The pink layer has a circle punch window for her too peek out. If you pull the blue tab, the tag pulls out and you can see all of the little sweetie! I embellished the front of the pocket with a little scrap of paper from TAC's Tutti Frutti Classic SWIC. The image is colored with Copic markers and there is a little glitter on the top of the cupcake. I think that this pocket front card is going to make it into our Stamp Club Technique Card Keeper Binder.

I will blog more of the great ideas and samples from Escape soon.

Stamp Club Filling FAST!

WOW! Stamp Club is filling up FAST and I haven't even shown the projects yet! I only have three spots left! If you have already RSVP'd I will contact you with more information soon. If you have been thinking about joining let me know right away or you might not get a spot. I still have spots left in both Sunday afternoon and Monday night, but Sunday spots are going faster than Monday.

In club we will be making a card keeper and building on it every month. Each month I will have a fun card for you to make. Each card will feature a technique that makes the card different in some way. Pictured are the first two cards for your card keeper.

'Kick Up Your Heels' is our card for February. It features the Side Stepin' fold.

'Glad We're Friends' is our card for March. It features a peek-a-boo sentiment that is revealed when you pull the tag.

Your card keeper will have a page for each month. You can store your finished card on one side and a paper pattern, which you will also make in club, on the other side.

When club is done, in November, you will have a ring binder full of at least 10 exciting and creative cards PLUS all the patterns and notes you need to make each design again and again.

The binder is only one of the great benefits of stamp club! Club members also get to be hostess of a $250 party at least once! A hostess at the $250 level receives one Level A stamp set, one Level B stamp set, and any three items in the TAC catalog for 50% off! Hostess club members get a copy of all three 2010 TAC publications free with their good standing in the club. Wanna join us? Email me right away.
